Looking after hand work
Care
Every piece in the collection is dry clean only. This is because of the hand work. Pintucks, beading, pearls, schiffli and embroidery do not survive a wash, however gentle.

01
Cleaning
- Dry clean only, for all pieces and all fabrics.
- Tell your cleaner where the hand work sits, especially on the pearl and beaded pieces, so it can be handled separately.
- Do not spot clean with water. Tissue and organza mark permanently.

02
Storing
- Hang each piece on a padded hanger inside a breathable cover. Never use plastic, as it traps moisture.
- Organza and plissé: store hung, never folded. A crease set into a pleat does not come out.
- Tissue: if it must be folded, put tissue paper between the layers.
- Blazers: use a shaped hanger, never a wire one.

03
Wearing
- Keep beaded, pearled and embroidered areas away from perfume and deodorant. Spray first, then dress.
- Rings, watches and bag straps catch on beadwork. Keep in mind where the work sits on the piece you are wearing.
- Silk at the waistband is the first thing to mark, so give perfume a minute to dry.

Pressing
- Press on the reverse, through a cloth.
- Never press directly onto pintucks, beadwork or organza.
- Linen creases. That is normal for the cloth and is not a fault.

If something goes wrong
A loose bead or a pulled thread can almost always be repaired in our studio. Please write to info@pummywalia.com before you take it anywhere else.
