Separates worked by hand: shirts, dresses, matching sets and tailored denim suits, cut generously and finished in our atelier.

What is in it
About thirty styles, made to be worn together or on their own. There are shirts with hand work at the collar, cuff or sleeve and matching sets where one half is worked and the other is left plain. There are four dresses. And there are two denim suits, which carry more hand work than anything else we make.

The cloths
- Cotton: our everyday cloth. Pintucks, pearls and beadwork on a fabric that is easy to live in.
- A blend of linen and polyester: holds a crisper fold than cotton and creases the way linen does. In terracotta, cocoa and olive.
- Organza and crushed organza: a sheer layer over a solid one. Two weights of the same colour, dyed half a tone apart.
- Silk: used for the trouser under an organza tunic, to give the outfit some weight.
- Tissue: the lightest cloth we work with and the most delicate.
- Denim: treated as a dress fabric rather than workwear. It is embroidered with schiffli, checked in windowpane, patched or cut as a shirt dress.

The organza pieces
In the organza pieces, a sheer layer carries the colour and a solid layer underneath gives it weight. Worn together, the two layers give a depth of colour that one cloth on its own does not.
Wearing the sets
The matching sets are designed so the pieces also work apart. Wear the shirt with jeans or the trouser with something plain on top.

Sizing
XS to XXXL as standard, with custom sizing available on request, subject to availability. The cut is generous, so if you are between two sizes, take the larger. Full measurement charts are on the Size & Custom Orders page.
Care
Every piece is dry clean only, because of the hand work. Pintucks, beading, pearls and schiffli do not survive a wash, however gentle. Full instructions are on the Care page.

Made to order
Each piece is cut and finished after you order it and delivered within 21 days.
